First search indexes product fields not any page text so if there is text in a page field (like the page name Polypropylene Strapping) that mentions POLYPROPYLENE it won't be in the search results.
Second, pages must be marked to have the products on the page searched by checking the box "Index" near the bottom of the Edit Page Content field.
Third, The fields that are indexed for each products are configured on the Preferences > Search Settings > Search indexing screen. In ShopSite 9.0 (Pro) the ability to add a "Relevance" setting was added. The higher the relevance the more important that field is in determining where the product shows up in search results.
Fourth, on the Edit Product Info screen you can set Search Keywords: for the product. These can be important words not included in other field being indexed, common misspellings for a word, other related words which a person might search for such as a brand name, generic name etc.
Fifth, the settings on Preferences > Search Settings > Search layout determine the layout of the products in the search results, templates, the sort order, steming etc.
How the search term is used in looking up products is also chosen for example if the person searches for just "poly" it the setting is for Whole words only then it would not find Polypropylene but if you have Auto new search with stems if nothing found checked it would use the "Stems" setting to look for words beginning or ending with poly
