Google site verification

I have been trying to verify to Google I am the site owner, I use the back office for shopsite no custom pages. Where can I add the Meta Tag they want me to add? I tried putting it in the Meta Desciption box but google can't find it. I tried the upload file but couldn't put it in a place google will see it? Please help.

I'm assuming this is for the Google Site Map feature of Google's Webmaster Tools stuff?

Google should give you two options for verification, either a meta tag or the existence of a file with a certain name. Choose the file-based verification, and in ShopSite's Merchandising -> Google -> Sitemap config screen you will see a field labeled 'Google Site Verification File' where you paste the filename of the file that Google told you to create. Paste it in there and click Save, and the file will be created.

Note that the first part of the URL to this file is listed below this field. And the next URL below that is the URL to the sitemap XML file that ShopSite will create during your Publish, you will need to enter the URL to this sitemap XML file in your Google account so that it will know where to find it.

Thank you Loren, that worked now maybe google will see my site better.
