Question about Order Options

Postby tmlogo » Thu Jun 26, 2008 10:31 am

Is there some way to add an option.... let's say a flat additional $15 fee for something on an entire order, even if the person ordered a quantity of more than one. This $15 fee would be an option for a service done on the entire order.

I don't want them to be charged $15 extra for each item, but just $15 for the entire order. This price may vary depending on the item. For example one item might cost an option $15 for the entire order, and another might be $20 for the entire order.

Thanks to anybody who might be able to help.

If you have a Pro store you could look at the Surcharge feature. It would be tied to the order and not to a specific product purchase though. Other than that the Order options are on a per product basis so any option price change would apply to all products purchased.

Thank you for the response. I thought of the Surchage, but unfortunately the option would be a unique price for each item. (if the customer even selected the option)

We have an additional setup fee that is added to the cart along with the item purchased. It shows up as an additional product though. This way no matter what quatity of the product they add, only one of the setup fee is added.

We did this using an IF argument, and setting a PRODUCT.Field to a certain value.

The only drawback is that the shopper can remove the added fee from their cart - but we always catch those sneaky shoppers.
