setting same template for all pages

Postby loveartscience » Wed Jun 18, 2008 8:01 pm

hi,

it seems like a simple task, but all the pages don't follow the same temple. that's my only mission. for example, the cart page is entirely different from the other pages. also, the links on the left are inactive. can someone give me suggestions. thanks!

If you go to Preferences > Layout & Color theme you can choose a theme that will make all screens in your store similar. There are a number of different templates involved in these themes and picking a particular theme will set the appropriate settings for your store to use the necessary templates.

If you choose to create your own templates then you must create templates for each type of screen and set the appropriate setting to use your templates. Here is a list of the possible templates that you would need to make if you choose to use your own templates: Page, Product, Search, Tell-a-friend, Customer Registration, Shopping Cart, Gift Certificate. Note that some of these templates have multiple sections in them and you usually need to complete each section. Once you have these templates created you go to the configuration screen for each area and select your new template for that area.

There are other ways to have your store page look similar by using the store header/footer and various text fields to include layout at the top and bottom of your screens that encapsulates the ShopSite data that is generated on your pages. This method gives a fairly easy way to have a similar look on all screens without creating a custom template.
