Help with Credit Card Processor and ShopSite 8.1

Postby vwdforums » Fri Jun 13, 2008 8:31 pm

Hello,

I just configured our website to work with VeriSign(now Paypal) Payflow Pro. Almost everything is working well except one thing. Within the configure processor settings screen of the VeriSign Payment Services section (under Payment setup) I have 4 comment boxes. 2 for Order comments and 2 for Billing Comments. By the way I am using Shopsite 8.1 for this site.

I need to be able to pass the order number to VeriSign(Paypal). However, I cannot choose Order ID in the Order Comment 1 or Order Comment 2 drop down boxes to display the order number. I can only choose Order ID within the Billing comment 1 and Billing Comment 2 boxes but those are not passed to VeriSign(PayPal). Only Order Comments are passed to VeriSign (Paypal). I'v talked to both the hosting company and VeriSign (Paypal) and both are pointing fingers at Shopsite. Any input on this would be great appreciated.

I have to be able to pass the order number over to VeriSign(Paypal) to be able to track them in both locations.

Thank You!

A ShopSite order number cannot be provided to Payflow Pro with the initial order transaction information, because at the time this data is sent it is not known whether or not Payflow Pro will approve the transaction or not, so there is no ShopSite order number yet assigned to the transaction.

Thanks for the quick reply Loren. I understand what you are saying. Really wish it was a different answer but I understand. We've always gone off order number doing them manually. Big change for us. And I'm still a little confused on why the Billing Comment 1 allows you to choose a Order Number if it's never going to pass it to the processor (perhaps once it knows its approved it should).
