Remove Continue Shopping button

Postby omike » Mon May 12, 2008 4:07 pm

Hi, is there a way to control which buttons appear in the shopping cart pages? I'd like to turn off "Continue Shopping."

I believe that you would have to remove the code that displays that button from the template that you use for your shopping cart if you don't want it to be displayed.

Are you only wanting the shopper to go to their cart once and not be able to get back to your store pages from the cart?

On the site that I'm working on, I have the store opening via Javascript popup when a product is added to their cart. It all works, except that if the user clicks Continue Shopping, the site is displayed in the popup. I'd like to remove the button so they don't have that option. I need to convey to the end-user that should they want to order more than 1 product, they need to close the popup and add the next item to their cart.

I know it's not ideal, but it's a requirement that the cart work this way.

What screen do I go to to remove the Continue Shopping button from the template? I may need to remove other buttons as well.

Thanks for the help.

You need to edit the template which (in pro and manager stores) is done under Merchandising > Custom templates. What files you would have to edit would depend on what template you are using.

You might consider replacing the image used with a single pixel gif that matches the background color of the page. You can change most of the images (unless they are hard coded in the template) on the Preferences > Store Text > Shopping cart (and Shipping and Checkout) screens.

Hi Jim,

Thanks so much for your reply. I replaced the graphic with a one pixel gif and it looks great.
