Inaccurate shipping charges

Postby downdeep » Wed May 28, 2008 9:02 am

I'm having an issue with shopsite and I need to clear this up right away as my company is losing money every day due to this.

When a customer logs on to the site and makes a purchase, he enters his zip code and gets to see his shopping cart with the UPS shipping charges added to the order. We use UPS exclusively. Then we enter the information in UPS worldship and ship the customer they're goods.

The problem is that what shopsite is charging the customers for shipping and what is actually being charged is two totally different costs. The customer is being charged considerably less than what we are being charged for that same shipment. And we're having to eat that cost.

Why is shopsite getting the wrong costs from UPS?

Inaccurate Shipping Charges

I think this thread should be in the General Forum, not Enhancement requests.

However, here are some things to check in your settings:

1) Are weights accurate in Shopsite for products and is the measurement unit correct?

2) Do you ship to residential or commercial addresses and do you have the appropriate one checked off in the Shopsite backoffice? The Residential surcharge will add a couple of dollars to any cost.

You may also want to assign a minimum product/shipment weight to pad things a bit.
