Custom Template for Products

Postby NewDesigner » Mon Mar 10, 2008 11:27 am

I am having trouble designing a custom product template using the Merchant-Definable Fields. I have consulted ShopSite's Help and Resource Center and attempted to create the template by copying and pasting from the examples given and adding Product Tags for Merchant-Definable Fields. I have also consulted my web hosting company, but their knowledge is very limited.

Does anyone have an example I can refer to?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The merchant defineable fields are included in the template using the tags

[-- PRODUCT.Field1 --] for the field Extra Field 1
[-- PRODUCT.Field2 --] for the field Extra Field 2
[-- PRODUCT.Field3 --] for the field Extra Field 3
[-- PRODUCT.Field4 --] etc.
[-- PRODUCT.Field5 --]
[-- PRODUCT.Field6 --]
[-- PRODUCT.Field7 --]
[-- PRODUCT.Field8 --]
[-- PRODUCT.Field9 --]
[-- PRODUCT.Field10 --]

If you want to display what you named that field you can use the tags
[-- STORE.ProductFieldX --] where X is a number from 1 to 10.

So for example if you sell books and you put the author's name in the product extra field 1 and you gave that field the name "Author" you could display the field name and its content by using the following

[-- STORE.ProductField1 --] : [-- Product.Field1 --] and when the page is generated it would display
Author : Mark Twain

Thank you. Your response helps a great deal. Now I'm just trying to figure out the spacing.

Have a good one.
