Help!! New Harddrive causing "Page cannot be found"

Postby seefreshnet » Sun Mar 09, 2008 11:06 am

I recently installed a new hard drive on my server. Using plesk we backed up the entire web system then restored it on the new hard drive. The SSL and all my files were moved smoothly. All my sites are working EXCEPT shopsite .cgi files. I get a "Page cannot be found" message. I realized I had yet to turn cgi back on for that site so I did that and I'm still receiving the message. This is an emergency! Anyone have any idea what could've gone wrong??!

OK, I think I know what the problem is, but I have no idea how to fix it. If I go to

mysite.com/shop/ss/start.cgi I get the 404 error

If I go to the direct address

mysite.com/ss/start.cgi I get a cgi error: CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers.

So, I suspect the "virtual" directory or whatever it is isn't directing files correctly? the /shop/ directory never really exists.

PS: I have a very limited time left to access the old harddrive, so if there are any files I should've grabbed that wouldn't have been in the httpdocs folder/sub folders, please please please let me know quick.

Thanks.

I don't know the answer to the first part of your question but for the second part about "any files I should've grabbed that wouldn't have been in the httpdocs folder/sub folders". Generally the stores data is not in a directory that can be accessed from the web so it is usually not in the httpdocs directory. Of course it may have been installed there so I can't be certain if you would need to get other files or not. You should look for files such as shopsite_db, ordernum, and subdirectories of ip and moreip all of which would be in the stores data directory. if you don't find them then you would need to get them from your old disk.

As for your first question I would recommend that you contact your host if they are a ShopSite partner and they should be able to help you. If they are not a partner then I would recommend that you purchase a support incident from ShopSite to get things fixed up. It would be a lot cheaper than wasting time not knowing what to do. You can purchase support at:
