Permission denied Could not open during publish

I am using shopsite 8.3 manager.

I changed an image location and updated some http code to reflect that move.

Now when I try to publish I get about 5 pages that get the follwing error:

Could not open /home/users/web/b439/pow.sroehlk/htdocs/store/page3.html, errno: Permission denied

I tried regenerating the site and have a similiar problem, the same pages come back with an error.

Many pages to work.

HELP!!!

Ok,
I went into a file manager provided by my host and changed permissions on each file manually to a different level.

It worked but I sure don't know how it changed in the first place
