IE6 - Registration requires the use of cookies

Postby CreativeMind » Thu Jan 31, 2008 9:54 am

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to fix this problem in Internet Explorer 6. When I click on the 'My Account' link, there is an error message displaying "Registration requires the use of cookies, please enable cookies in your browser and try again."

Is there a way to resolve this issue? I don't think by having all users to understand how to enable cookies in the browser setting is the solution.

I was looking inside of ShopSite and was not able to find a way too resolve this issue. In IE7 and Firefox is fine but only in IE6.

Thanks!

Customer Registration requires that the shopper have cookies turned on in their browser. Period.

That being said, I used my IE 6.0 browser and was able to register at your site just fine. So make sure that cookies really are enabled in your IE 6 browser.

As far as the error message that is displayed when cookies are not enabled, you can change this to say whatever you want. In fact you can probably put in an HTML link to open a new window to a page where you describe how to enable cookies in the various browsers that you are concerned about. The text of the message can be changed in Preferences -> Store Text -> Customer Registration, it's towards the bottom about 9 or 10 lines above the button settings.
