Recommend a programmer/designer familiar with shopsite

Postby mtgotraders » Sun Nov 11, 2007 10:47 am

I'm considering revamping my website and I'm looking for a programmer that really knows shopsite inside and out and does great design. My current layout is good but it was done very sloppy and could of been much better. If anyone has suggestions or knows someone they had a good experience with that would be very helpful.

I think your site looks fabulous.

Couple of comments: Your cart doesn't match the the highly customized look of the rest of your site, and the main page says "Copyright 2005, MTGO Traders." We update our copyright dates every year on January 1 (or you can use javascript to do it automatically). No legal requirement, but having the current year makes a site look fresher. You do have 2007 on other pages.

Great search utility within the limits of what SS provides. Whoever set that up knew his Shopsite stuff.

Surprised that you don't have a minicart. Most of your cards are inexpensive, so I would think a minicart might help customers keep track of multiple items.

I have about 70 SS sites bookmarked. Yours is among the most full featured and attractive.

What is the best site you have seen in your opinion?

Let me gush over two of my favorites:

Cable Organizer, a big site, has everything but the - sink. Overkill for most of our needs. No nonsense approach to selling to web-savvy tech buyers. Excellent product info provided.

Gentleman's Emporium, a small site, sells historical clothing. I was blown away when the owner, a non techie, told me he built it himself. Great features and gorgeous design that's perfect for the subject matter.

As a non-pro, for all I know these two may be junk "under the hood" but both impress the hell out of me.

Anyone else have an All Time Favorite SS site?
