Postby edigib » Thu Nov 16, 2006 7:40 am

I tested virtual terminal on authorize.net and it works, I removed the testing mode on authorize.net, it works as well.
now when I go through the check out process, it says no permission to request zipcode, street number check ,error code 123.
i guess it is credit card processing error on shopsite.
can anyone help me?

You would probably be incorrect, there is no such ShopSite error message as far as I know, and the error code would also indicate it came from Authorize.net. So it's probably some setting on your Authorize.net account side of things, check with your Authorize.net support rep.

I recently ran into this same error while setting up Authorize.net in ShopSite. The problem turned out to be using the Authorize.net account login ID (in the ShopSite settings, "Login ID"). Changing it to the Authorize.net *API* login ID solved the error. Your API login ID comes from Authorize.net (you'll have to login to their website to get it, if you don't have it already).

thanks websitewerx, I think this is a very logical answer!
yes, I did use authorize login ID, which I should not. Instead I should try the api id.

THANKS AGAIN!

still didn't work

Postby edigib » Fri Nov 17, 2006 8:33 am

websitewrex,

I changed the login ID, tansaction key to API ID and transaction key, still it did not work, here is the info I get,
There was a problem processing your credit card information.
Please verify that the following were entered correctly:

Zip Code
Card Number
Expiration Date
If you repeatedly see this message, complete your order by contacting the merchant directly.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Detailed error message:
Response Code: 3
Response Subcode: 1
Reason Code: 103
Reason: This transaction cannot be accepted.

what else could be wrong. since I did it correctly in authorize.net, I bet this gotta be something wrong with my payment setting on shopsite side.
any idea?
the critical settings are just
login ID (API): I filled it in.
password (I leave it blank because it is not required, and I will fill in transaction key)
transaction key: I filled it in.

Note that these error codes are Authorize.net error codes, so if you really want to know what they mean and which login ID and password or transaction key you should use, you should contact Authorize.net.

problem fixed!

Postby edigib » Fri Nov 17, 2006 9:39 am

Loren, you are right.

just talked to authorize.net and confirmed the reason code and fixed my problem.
1. it is authorize.net reason code,
2. we do need to use API ID, not authorize.net login ID (shopsite might need to improve the user interface to avoid confusion in future)
3. when we see code 103, it means user entered transaction key and password. only one is required, if both entered we have reason code 103 error. things to be improved by shopsite
- explain clearly on page that either one (password or transaction key) is required, but definitely not both!
- shopsite sometimes, after saving API ID and transaction key, auto-generate password to fill in(I did not enter password). this could be a bug.

thanks Loren, for your advice!

Very Helpful

Postby rib » Mon Jul 23, 2007 1:28 pm

I have had the same problems in setting up Authorize.net to Shopsite.
This forum was very helpful.

I am having a small but very irritating problem.

I initially set up Authorize.net with the Password AND Transaction Key.
I filled in both fields.
I received the same errors.
Now I am trying to fix the problem.
I cannot delete either the Pasword or the transaction key.

I can delete the stars in the text entry box, then click on save changes.
But when I go back in they are both there...

I can delete the Login ID, and it goes away when I save changes, but
the Password and Transaction key will not delete.

Any ideas?

If you provide a Transaction Key (which you should use instead of password, anyway), then the password is not used, so the fact that the edit field appears to have something in it is not very relevant.

Note that in v8.2 and newer the password entry field is removed altogether (so if you need to re-configure your Authorize.net settings in ShopSite v8.2 and newer and you were previously using password, then you will now need to get a Transaction Key in order to save any changes to this menu).

So...

1) If you have setup an API Login ID on your Authorize.net account (which you should) then you will need to enter it in the Login ID field instead of your normal Login ID.

2) Forget about the Password field and what appears in it, just setup your account with a Transaction Key and provide that.

Thank you Loren,

I was able to get the API Login from authorize.net and change the other user ID that I used.

I then ran a test with both the transaction key and password but received the same error code.

I need to double check the transaction Key and make sure it is correct.
Is the transaction key found on authorize.net? I can't find the source...

I'm not sure if the current Transaction Key is listed anywhere in your Authorize.net account to view, however you should at least be able to create a new Transaction Key from your Authorize.net account. I'm not too familiar with their interface, so I can't say exactly where, but if you need help with that you should call Authorize.net.

Transaction Key was a bad #.
I put in the correct transaction key and we're processing orders.
Thanks Loren
